1. Honor your body through mindful nutrition.
Prioritizing protein in meals is a simple way to focus on giving your body the nutrients it needs to support your health in metabolism, sustaining or growing muscle, fat loss (if that is a goal for you), and overall longevity.
Making gentle adjustments to macro and micronutrients can make a big difference in how you feel, look, and perform.
2. Practice listening to your body’s needs.
When you practice listening to hunger and honoring fullness, you begin to realize how smart the body is. When we pair this with mindfulness in the nutrients we are eating, we can fully optimize our bodies without needing to count, weigh, and measure everything we eat.

3. Prioritize improving your relationship with food and you will never have to “diet’ again.
Nutrition is a science, but it’s also an art. Learning to navigate the mental and emotional side of eating will help take the pressure off of trying to be “perfect” with everything you eat. It will allow you to avoid overthinking, be less judgmental towards yourself, and ultimately allow you to be more objective about food so you can make mindful choices to support your health and also enjoy all the foods you love periodically.
4. Build strength and move your body 3-5 days per week.
Focusing on getting stronger and building muscle will help boost the metabolic rate and improve overall quality of life.
5. Health and fitness is a part of your life, not a plan you are “on or off.”
A lot of people view their nutrition and fitness as either they are “on the wagon or off the wagon.” This can easily have people spin into an “all or nothing” mindset with their health that usually leads to guilt, stress, and yo-yo dieting.
A simple mindset shift is to view mindful nutrition and fitness as a piece of who you are. Sometimes, you turn up the volume to be more focused, and some seasons you’ll dial it back, but regardless, it’s still a part of who you are, not something you are “doing” for a short season.
