Healthy Christmas Cookies. Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Banana with Banana Almond Butter Frosting

  • 1/3 cup unsalted grass fed butter, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch sea salt


  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Whip together butter, coconut sugar and a vanilla in a mixer until light and fluffy
  3. Add eggs one at a time
  4. In a separate bowl combine, cacao powder, coconut flour, arrowroot, baking soda and sea salt.
  5. Add to mixer
  6. On a slow speed mix until well combined
  7. Scoop out tablespoon size rounds onto a parchment lined baking sheet
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes
  9. Let cool for 45 minutes
  10. Fill two cookies with banana almond butter frosting

Banana Almond Frosting


  • 2 ripe banana
  • ½ cup grass fed butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup almond butter, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • pinch seal salt


  1. Place bananas, butter, almond butter, maple syrup and sea salt
  2. Beat until smooth and creamy

Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator
